Rangers Premier and 19U Elite Teams Each Set for a Pair of Games

TEWKSBURY, MA -- It's a much different schedule for the Boston Jr. Rangers, but this weekend's games are just as important for the both the Premier and 19U Elite teams. Following the Hooksett Showcase, the Rangers Premier team rides a 10-game winning streak into the weekend. The Rangers 19U Elite team is also on a winning streak, as they take their 3-game ride into a weekend with tough opponents on the schedule.

"Every game is big right now for both teams," said Rangers Premier head coach Rich DeCaprio. "The Premier guys face-off with a pair of division rivals, while the 19U Elite team gets the top team in the South Conference along with a team they are currently tied with in the standings. It should be a really fun weekend for our teams."

PREMIER PREVIEW

Back-to-back days against back-to-back division rivals as the Rangers Premier looks to stay at the top of the Boston Division standings.

THURSDAY - The Rangers bring their 10-game winning streak home to the friendly confines of the Breakaway Ice Center. After losing in heartbreaking fashion to the Express last March (Premier Playoffs), the close contests with Walpole have carried right over into this season. In two matchups so far, both games needed extra time to decide a winner. The Express came away victorious by the score of 2-1 in a shootout on October 2nd, and then the Rangers turned the tables with a 3-2 overtime win on December 9th. The road team won in both games.

FRIDAY - The matchup on Friday brings another tough opponent as the Warriors come into this one with the momentum of just ending the Philadelphia Little Flyers' point streak at 33 games. Similar to the Rangers matchups with the Express, the Rangers and Warriors split the first two contests of the season. The Warriors won 2-1 on October 1st, and the Rangers won 4-3 on October 19th.

19U ELITE PREVIEW

The 19U Elite team has a big challenge ahead of them this weekend, with four very important points on the line.

SATURDAY - This weekend kicks off with the 2nd best team in the league on Saturday, as the Philadelphia Revolution come to town. The Revolution have been at the top of the South Conference standings all season, and knocked off the Rangers by a wide margin back in October.

SUNDAY - A quick turnaround for the boys brings the Walpole Express to town the next day. The weekend begins with the Rangers and Express tied for the last spot in the North Conference playoffs (6th seed). The Rangers have beat the Express twice this season, each time by scores of 4-3.
