Rangers Assistant Captain Joining Soaring Eagles this Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The Boston Jr. Rangers are pleased to announce that Nick Grinvalds has committed to Elmira College for the Fall of 2018. Grinvalds is in his second season in the EHL, and to date, has tallied 26 points in 77 career games with the Rangers.

"We are very proud of Nick on his commitment to Elmira," said Rangers EHL head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "Nick has grown by leaps and bounds since joining us last year, both on the ice, but more importantly off the ice. Elmira is getting a great character person and player. We wish him the best!"

Grinvalds has turned himself into a solid offensive and defensive defenseman, and this season was a part of the EHL All-Star Team that took on the UMass Boston Beacons back in October. The native of New Jersey took some time to reflect on his decision and thank those who helped him along the way.

"I am very excited to be playing at Elmira College next season," said Grinvalds. "I'd like to thank Coach DeCaprio and Coach Blair for helping me become a better player and person. Coming to the Jr. Rangers has completely brought me out of my shell as a player. I am at the level I am now because of this organization. I've really enjoyed my time here and I am looking forward to my collegiate career."

With his decision behind him, Grinvalds can now focus on leading his team down the final stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs. The Rangers hit the ice next tomorrow afternoon when they travel to take on the Seahawks at 12:00pm.
