EHL Team Preps for First Showcase

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Both Rangers teams were back in action this past Sunday, and each squad lost their respective contest against the New Hampshire Avalanche. The EHL team lost a close contest (3-2) to the back-to-back EHL Champions, and now sit at 1-1-0 for the season. On the other end, the EHLP team fell to 2-1-0 with their defeat.

Connor Doherty got the Rangers on the board first with a goal at the 10:21 mark of the 1st period. After a scoreless rest of the frame, last year's leading goal scorer, Andrew Keith, gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the 2nd. However, the Avalanche rallied with three unanswered goals in the period and won by a final score of 3-2. Jake Blackwell, Tom Skold, Brent Rickett, and Connor Galloway collected the assists for the Rangers, and Billy Girard stopped 36 shots in the loss.

EHLP

The EHLP squad also got off to a fast start on Sunday as Quinn Shepard gave the Rangers the lead just over two minutes into the game. After the Avalanche tied things up, Johnny Malandruccolo found the back of the net for the 6th time this season with just 15 seconds left in the frame, to give the Rangers the 2-1 advantage. Unfortunately, the Avalanche scored a pair of goals in the 2nd period and tacked on three more in the 3rd period, to win the game by a final of 6-2. Logan Palmer stopped 24 shots in the loss and Nick Snyder, Max Stephens, Matt McPherson, and Jackson Drysdale all picked up an assist.

Looking Ahead

Both Rangers squads will get back to work this upcoming weekend as the EHL team will travel to Hyannis this evening for a matchup against the Seahawks Hockey Club at 5:00pm. Following today's game, the EHL team will then head over to Walpole for the first EHL Showcase of the season this upcoming Sunday and Monday.

On Sunday, the Rangers are set to square off against the Connecticut Roughriders at 12:00pm, followed by a game against Philadelphia Jr. Flyers at 8:00am on Monday morning.

The Premier team on the other hand, will travel to Worcester to face-off against the Railers Jr. Hockey Club on Saturday at 12:50pm. They will then head back home for a matchup against the Vally Jr. Warriors on Sunday at 1:50pm.
