EHL Goaltender Set to Join Ravens Next Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The Boston Jr. Rangers are pleased to announce that Brogan McDonald has committed to Franklin Pierce University (FPU) for the fall of 2021. The 2000-born native of Gorham, ME chose the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) for his final season of junior hockey, and in six total starts to date, McDonald owns a near-perfect record of 5-0-1.

"We are very happy for Brogan on his commitment to FPU,” said EHL head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio, “It’s a great opportunity for him to continue his growth as a player. Brogan is a great teammate, and brings a good energy and compete level to the rink every day. Congrats Brogan!"

The Rangers have a strong track record of helping players advance onto Franklin Pierce, as McDonald goes down as the 7th Ranger in team history to choose the Ravens' hockey program. Overall, McDonald is first EHL player to choose Franklin Pierce this season, and the 35th player in league history.

"Playing for the Boston Junior Rangers really has helped me a lot in terms of holding myself accountable every day and performing to the best of my standards," said McDonald. "The culture of being a Ranger is very special and that’s what I enjoy so much about being here. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to play at Franklin Pierce University. Coach Millerick and Coach Michals made my choice very easy and I felt as if I were at home when I had my visit to FPU. I’m really looking forward to the next 4 years there and seeing what they will bring.”

McDonald and the Rangers are leading the way in the New England Conference, with a mark of 13-1-1 through their first 15 games of the season. The defending Regular Season Champions will go for win #14 when they take on the East Coast Wizards on Sunday night.
