TEWKSBURY, MA -- Boston Jr Rangers’ Josh Grund has committed to SUNY Brockport for the fall of 2022.

New York native, Josh Grund, will be headed back to his home state in the fall as he has committed to SUNY Brockport.

Grund leads the team in points with 11 goals and 18 assists this season. He has been a powerful asset to this year’s group. Coach Rich DeCaprio explained, “Josh came to us late, but filled an immediate impact role both on the PP and the PK.”

The ‘01 left shooter will be bringing more than his hockey IQ to Brockport. Josh is passionate about helping others and is about to begin his studies in order to achieve that goal. Post graduation, Josh is planning on pursuing a career in the medical field as a nurse practitioner.

“We send players to Brockport every year, as they are a top program in the SUNY with great coaches and strong academics,” said DeCaprio. “Josh is a great character kid who can really play the game. I look forward to watching him next season.”

What has been a lifetime goal achieved, there is nothing but excitement from both Josh and Coach DeCaprio.

“Coach DeCaprio instilled work ethics both on and off of the ice,” Josh said. “I cannot thank Coach enough for everything he has done to help me pursue playing college hockey!”

“I would like to thank my family, Coach DeCaprio, as well as the Eastern Hockey League for helping me get to where I am.”
