Rangers Roll to Full Week Sweep

TEWKSBURY, MA -- What a week it was for the Boston Jr. Rangers! 5 FOR 5 ... FIVE FOR FIVE!!! Combined together, the Rangers had five total games between their Premier and 19U Elite teams, and they won ALL 5. The Premier team swept the Hooksett Showcase and beat the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack last Wednesday, while the 19U Elite team knocked off the New Hamsphire Jr. Monarchs this past Saturday night.

Premier head coach Rich DeCaprio spoke highly of his team's performance.

We got contributions from all 4 lines and some scoring from our back-end," said DeCaprio. "Both goalies played well. The guys have put a team-first mentality in place and I'm really happy with how we have been playing. There's still a lot of hockey left to play and we need to continue to get better everyday both on and off the ice. Defensively I'm very proud of all of them with how the compete in our own end."

PREMIER RECAP

A full slate of games put the pressure on the Premier team to keep their winning streak intact. Heading into the week, the Rangers were riding a six-game streak, and now that number stands at 10.

Each game was different for the Rangers, and each game was close.

The Rangers now own a record of 20-10-2, and their 42 points put them in 1st place in the Boston Division and 2nd place in the North Conference.

A remarkable 18 of their 20 wins have been by two goals or less, and that includes all 10 wins on their current streak.

What is more impressive is how the Rangers have handled overtimes and shootouts. The team is 7-2 in games that are tied at the end of regulation.

19U ELITE RECAP

The 19U Elite team only faced-off in one game over the weekend, but they took care of business against a team that was undefeated against them so far this season.

On Saturday night in New Hampshire, the Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 in the 1st period, and then held on for a 3-2 victory. Dan Barry, Zach Norby, and Luke Klecker scored the goals for the Rangers, while Ben Parker stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced between the pipes.
