19U Elite Team Advances to Round Robin

BRIDGEWATER, MA -- It was a nail-biter, but the Rangers came out on top with a huge 3-2 shootout victory over the Boston Bandits. Wednesday night's win advances the team to the North Conference Round Robin, set to take place this weekend in New Hampshire.

"That was an excellent hockey game," said Rangers Elite head coach Ryan Blair. "Of course that's easier to say when you win, but that's definitely how a playoff game should be, intense until the very end."

Last night's game was essentially made up of a pair of momentum swings. Pat Bowe got the Rangers on the board early in the 1st period, and then John Grealish made it 2-0 just over four minutes later. Scott Hall cut the deficit to one just about halfway through the 2nd period, and then Vladimir Danilov tied the score for the Bandits late in the 3rd period. Neither team could find the back of the net in overtime, and the game went to a shootout.

In the shootout, the goalies continued to stand tall through the firs five combined shooters. It was the 6th shooter, Hunter Sawicki, who scored the only goal of the shootout and won the game for the Rangers.

With the win, the Rangers punch their ticket for this weekend's North Conference Round Robin. Be sure to check out this weekend's schedule.
