EHL All-Star Goaltender Set to Join Beacons This Fall

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The Boston Jr. Rangers are pleased to announce that Nolan Egbert has committed to UMass Boston for the Fall of 2018. Egbert is in his second season with the Rangers' top team, and to date, he has won 41 total games during his career in the EHL.

"We are very proud of Nolan's commitment to UMB," said Rangers EHL head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio. "The last 2 seasons he has really grown both on and off the ice. His abilities are unmatched in my opinion and his ceiling is still very high. We wish him the best over the next 4 years. I'm glad he's staying local!"

Egbert was recently named the goaltender for the 1st All-Conference Team in the North Conference, and he is also a strong candidate for the EHL Goalie of the Year honors. All in all, it has been a fantastic career for native of New York in the EHL, and he took some time to reflect on the journey.

"I couldn't be more grateful to Coach DeCaprio for giving me the opportunity to play for him and I've grown immeasurably as a player and a person during my time with the Rangers," said Egbert.

Egbert and the Rangers just finished off a full week of rest and preparation during their First Round bye, and now they are set to take on the Walpole Express in the Second Round of the EHL Playoffs. With a trip to Providence on the line, game #1 of the best-of-three series will be on Friday at the Breakaway Ice Center.
