EHL Goaltender Set to Join Panthers in January

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The Boston Jr. Rangers are pleased to announce that Ben Parker has committed to Plymouth State University for the spring of 2019. Parker is currently in his 3rd season with the Rangers, and his 2nd at the EHL level.

“We are so happy for Ben. This is a great opportunity for him that just fell into place at the right time,” said EHL head coach and general manager Rich DeCaprio, “He’s not only a great goalie, but one of the best teammates and high-character individuals that I’ve ever had the privilege of coaching throughout my 16 years. He’s earned this opportunity, 100%.”

In his first season of junior hockey, Parker led the Rangers' EHLP team to the finals, all while posting a 2.34 GAA in 17 games that year. The native of Ashland, MA then advanced to EHL level for the 2017-18 season, where he started 14 games and maintained a seller 2.08 GAA along with a .932 save percentage. Finally this year, Parker has collected a pair of wins along with a GAA of 2.55. All in all, Parker has put together a solid junior career and took time to reflect on his time with the Rangers.

“The last two and a half years with the Boston Jr. Rangers has been phenomenal,” said Parker. “The coaching staff helped me develop tremendously on the ice as a hockey player and off the ice as a person. I could not have asked to be part of a better junior hockey program.”

Parker and the Rangers will head on the road this upcoming weekend with a matchup against the New England Wolves on Saturday, followed by a game on Sunday against the New Hampshire Avalanche.
